Andrea Brillantes on boyfriend Ricci Rivero saying yes to her ‘promposal’: ‘Para akong nanalo sa lotto’

Andrea Brillantes said she was overwhelmed with happiness when her boyfriend, basketball player Ricci Rivero, agreed to be her date to the upcoming Star Magical Prom — with the help of K-pop global sensation Blackpink during the second day of their concert in Bulacan last March 26.
On Instagram on Wednesday night, Brillantes expressed her gratitude to the athlete for agreeing to her surprise “promposal,” saying it felt like winning the lottery. She also posted a picture of the two of them during the concert, with the actress holding a yellow banner, and was also seen giving her boyfriend a hug.
“Thank you for saying YES, bebe! And thank you Lord dahil napansin ng Blackpink ang promposal ko. It was the best 2-3 minutes of MY LIFE!!!!!! Para talaga akong nanalo sa lotto,” she wrote. (Thank you for saying yes, babe! And thank you Lord because Blackpink noticed my “promposal,” it was the best two-to-three minutes of my life! It’s like I won the lottery.)

Singer Darren Espanto, who recorded a video of Brillantes’ “promposal” on Instagram, and fashion stylist Eldzs Mejia, as well as Belo Medical Group were elated to see the “Kadenang Ginto” star being happy with Rivero, as seen in the comments section.
“Sana tumahimik nalang ako sa video talaga,” Espanto wrote. (I wished I just kept my mouth shut in the video.)
“You look so happy [heart emoji] congratulations Blythe,” the aesthetic clinic said.

Meanwhile, some fans can’t help but give their two-cents on the actress taking the initiative to ask her partner to be her date in the comments. Others even noted that it makes “perfect sense” for Brillantes to invite Rivero to the event, since it is she who is talent of Star Magic.
One @jmcarreon.90 pointed out, “Actually, [that’s] normal where the girl would ask a guy to prom. [We’re] in a whole new generation where it does not have to be the guy to always ask the girl to prom.”
Another @gracebasallote_ said, “Sa mga [nagtatanong] bat daw babae yung [nag-ask] ng ‘promposal,’ Si Blythe po kasi yung [taga-Star Magic], hindi si Ricci. Kaya malamang si Blythe talaga [mag-ask].” (To those who are wondering why a woman would initiate the “promposal,” Blythe is from Star Magic, not Ricci. So of course, Blythe would be the one to ask him out.)
Instagram user @mclisse_univ, on the other hand, said that not all Blackpink fans are “mad” at the actress for supposedly making a scene at the concert. “Congrats blythe! I guarantee you na hindi lahat ng blinks galit sayo. May ibang basher kalang talaga outside our fandom. As a blink I’m happy for you (I guarantee you that not all Blinks are mad at you. It can be recalled that Brillantes’ sister, Kayla Gorostiza, defended the actress’ proposal on social media, as she clarified that the teen star just wants her prom to be “super special.”
“Gusto niya lang maging super special ng first prom niya. Let her be. Di talaga ko nagre-react sa mga ganitong bash but d*mn, leave my sister alone [you] bitter people. She’s allowed to be a fangirl,” she said on Instagram. (She just wants her first prom to be super special.
