Barbie Forteza and David Licauco took their love team to the next level when they appeared as a lovestruck couple in the music video of the hit song “The Way You Look At Me.”
The onscreen couple, who was earlier dubbed “FiLay” by their “Maria Clara at Ibarra” fans, was quickly given the moniker “BarDa” status in recognition of their combines names.
The music video, uploaded on Universal Records Philippines’ official YouTube channel on Saturday, March 25, showed the Kapuso stars showing off their dramatic acting chops where Forteza took on the role of a blind girl whose sight was nursed back to health. The video garnered over 165,000 views, as of this writing.
The video also featured the cover of the track performed by folk pop band Ben&Ben, as part of Universal Records Philippines’ 20th year tribute to seasoned singer Christian Bautista, who originally sung the hit song back in 2004.
Bautista was also featured in the loveteam’s music video, as Licauco’s friend who appeared to be concerned about the latter’s lovelife who had gone through a breakup.
Sparkle GMA Artist Center also shared behind-the-scenes photos of Forteza and Licauco while filming for the music video, where they were spotted getting cozy for a scene.
“A ‘Kilig-filled’ Saturday night with Team FiLay. Here are some exclusive photos of Barbie Forteza and David Licauco on Ben&Ben’s ‘The Way You Look At Me’ music video,” the caption read.
Forteza and Licauco’s team-up first gained the attention of fans after starring as Klay Infantes and Fidel de los Reyes in the historical fantasy drama “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” which aired its final episode in February 2023.
The onscreen partners then appeared in a four-part installment “Lady and Luke” of the anthology series “Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko,” which will run until April 2 of this year. EDV
