Joseph Marco is receiving praise from fellow actors, including Sharon Cuneta, who called him a saint for saving a wounded cat that he chanced upon in a street in Makati recently and restoring it to health.
The “Kunwari Mahal Kita” star posted a video on Instagram about the health journey of his adopted cat which he named Maxik, from the time it was found five months ago in a sorry state and bleeding in an alley when it was jus no more than a kitten, up to the time that it was evidently fully grown and healthy.
“Sharing you Maxik’s journey… We’ve found this hopeless little fella in the busy streets of Makati,” he captioned his post, with a trigger warning about a wounded animal.
Marco said the little kitten appeared to have been hit by a car and has a huge cut in one of its legs. “He got hit pretty bad… seemed so scared and helpless,” he said.
He said that he decided to adopt the cat and shower it with love and care, taking it to the vet, feeding it and giving it a home.
The text in his video further stated thus: “Animals have no voice. They can’t ask for help. They can’t ask for freedom.”
“Humanity must be their voice… Maxik teels us everyone deserves a chance,” the actor said, after showing a now healthy and well-loved Maxik.
Some celebrities lauded Marco’s effort to help save the cat, among them Jodi Sta. Maria and megastar Sharon Cuneta, who even reshared his post on Instagram.
Cuneta, in her own Insta post, called him “St. Joseph” for his kind deed. The two have worked together in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
“Just had to repost this. St. Joseph! @josephcmarco Ang galing mo, ang bait mo. Thank you for doing this. So touching… Really, such a kind, heartwarming thing to have done,” she said. EDV
