Ashley Ortega admitted that “Maria Clara at Ibarra” star Juancho Triviño, who’s happily married to Joyce Pring, is her first love and first boyfriend.

Ortega made the revelation during the March 17 episode of the show “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” when she was asked by TV host Boy Abunda if she ever fell in love with a leading man before.

“Yes,” she said while laughing, before admitting that she used to be in a relationship with Triviño. “He was my first boyfriend. I think naging out naman kami dati (I think the public knew about our relationship before),” she added.

“First love and first boyfriend. Ah,” the actress noted, as she placed her hands on her cheeks while squealing.

During the interview, the “Hearts on Ice” star also spoke about her recent breakup with Lucena City mayor Mark Alcala where she said that it was a “mutual decision.” Ortega confirmed their split earlier this month, noting that they’ve called it quits since last year.

“Pinaglaban ko naman [ang relationship namin] until the very end. We had a mutual agreement and I respected his decision. Ayaw namin ipilit sa isa’t isa if we know it won’t work. Kasi if we know it won’t work, bakit pa ipaglalaban,” she said.

(I fought for our relationship until the very end. We had a mutual agreement and I respected his decision. We don’t want to force ourselves if we know it won’t work because if we know it won’t work, why should we even fight for it?)

The actress also admitted that their relationship suffered from communication problems, although she clarified that she has nothing against the politician.

“Naging problem ‘yung distance [sa isa’t isa]. Nawala ‘yung connection and communication namin (Our distance from each other became a problem. We lost our connection and we had problems with communication),” she said, adding that it’s been six months since their breakup. “I don’t know if we’re friends but I have nothing against him.”

During the interview, the newly-single Kapuso star was also asked about her celebrity crush, to which she admitted that it was seasoned actor Ian Veneracion.

Ortega and Triviño previously starred together in several GMA projects in the past, notably during an episode of the anthology series “Maynila” and “InstaDad.” EDV
