Rufa Mae Quinto was all praises for Heart Evangelista who she said bought some of her luxury items and even helped sell some of them to her friends, before the former left for the United States in 2020.
Quinto looked back on her past interactions with Evangelista in a March 6 episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” as she shared that the actress-socialite even helped her organize her designer items.
This comes after the comedienne, best known for her signature catchphrases “Todo na ‘to!” and “Go, go, go!” admitted in the interview that she barely got by during the pandemic.
“Sobrang hirap, lalo na ako. Pero pinalipas ko lang ang mga araw at dasal, hindi rin ako nag-vlog kasi siyempre, ayokong magpatawa habang umiiyak ang buong mundo. Kapit lang ako sa Diyos kasi na-lock in ako so wala ako kahit anong dala,” she said.
(It was really hard, especially for me. But I was able to let the days pass by with the help of prayer. I couldn’t even vlog since I didn’t want to make anyone laugh while the world feels so down. I only held on to my faith in God since I was locked in the U.S. and I barely had anything with me.)
“Totoo ba that bumili sa’yo ng designer items si Heart Evangelista?” TV host Boy Abunda then asked the actress. (Is it true that Heart Evangelista bought designer items from you?)
“Noong una, mga shoes muna tsaka relos,” she replied. “Nasa Tupperware lahat ng shoes ko, tapos pinilit niya ako, sabi niya, ‘Tara na sige na dalhin mo,’ hanggang siya na ang naglinis isa-isa, nilatag niya lahat. Tapos nagbenta pa siya sa mga friends.”
(Heart bought shoes and watches first. All of my shoes were initially kept in a Tupperware container, then she urged me to sell them, and she would help me. Until she was the one who cleaned the items and even organized them herself. She even sold some to her friends.)
During the interview, Abunda noted that while Evangelista had always been “mabait” or kind to her peers, her encounter with Quinto made him admire her more — to which the actress agreed.
“Nakakatuwa nga siya eh, hindi ko naman siya binebentahan. Siya na lang nagbenta ng mga sapatos, bags, relos. Tapos nagbenta pa siya sa iba niyang mga kakilala at friends. Kaya natutuwa talaga ako sa kanya, napakabait niya,” she said.
“Text ko nga si Heart, benta ulit,” Quinto added in jest.
(It makes me glad. I was not even selling my designer items to her. She’s the one who made an effort to help sell some of my shoes, bags, and watches, and she even sold them to her acquaintances and friends. I should text her, we should sell again.)
The comedienne also shared that she met Evangelista in 1995 during an interment of a mutual friend’s family member. They eventually worked together in the 2011 comedy film “Temptation Island” alongside Marian Rivera, Lovi Poe, and Solenn Heussaff.
“Nagandahan kami ni Heart sa isa’t isa. Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Ang ganda mo.’ Hindi niya pala nakalimutan ‘yun. Tapos noong nagkita kami ulit, artista na rin siya,” she said. (Heart and I found each other beautiful. I told her, ‘You’re pretty.’ I didn’t expect that she would remember that. Then when we saw each other again, she’s already an actress.)
Quinto, who is currently in the Philippines for endorsements and brand deals, shared her arrival in the country in an Instagram post on Sunday, March 5, where she thanked herself for coming back home and have an opportunity to pamper herself.
The actress-comedienne is best known for her appearances in films such as “Super B” and “Booba,” among others, and was a regular at the long-running GMA gag show “Bubble Gang.” EDV
