Pokwang clarifies Lee O’Brian not her ‘ex-husband’: ‘Hindi po kami kasal’

Pokwang reiterated that she and her former partner Lee O’Brian did not get married in response to a netizen addressing the actor as her “ex-husband.”
Pokwang showed a video of Malia, her daughter with O’Brian, calling the actress “a star” in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Feb. 28. One @johannreii then complimented the kid via the comments section, saying she bears resemblance to her dad.
“Momshie Pokwang, hawig talaga ng [ex-husband] mo si Malia, ang ganda. Pero siyempre, ang pagkapilya [ay] kay Mommy Pokwang,” the netizen commented. (Momshie Pokwang, Malia really resembles your ex-husband—she’s pretty. [But] of course, she got her wit from her mom.)
“Hindi po kami kasal so hindi ko siya [ex-husband]. Takot ‘yan sa responsibilidad,” Pokwang replied. “Kawawa pakakasalan n’yan.” (We are not married, so he is not my ex-husband. He is scared of responsibilities. I pity the one he will marry.)

An Instagram user with the handle @idm_irene then advised Pokwang to use her surname for Malia, to which the comedian revealed, “Inaayos ko na po (I am already processing it).”

Pokwang also appeared to have alluded to O’Brian in an earlier Twitter post, wherein she called him “ungrateful” and said that the actor should say sorry to her eldest daughter, Mae Subong, who welcomed him into their family.

Pokwang confirmed her separation from O’Brian in July last year. Their split made headlines again earlier this year after she revealed that O’Brian is in a new relationship, and that the latter did not make an effort to “swallow his pride” for Malia.
Pokwang also admitted that she initially lied about the cause of their split in hopes they would still mend their relationship.
