John Arcilla expressed his gratitude once again to his friend and renowned director Erik Matti, who earlier called the actor and Star Magic “bastos” (disrespectful) for not acknowledging the film “On the Job: The Missing 8” in their Instagram posts.

Arcilla showed a video compilation of his speeches in several awarding events where he thanked Matti as well as “On the Job: The Missing 8” producer Dondon Monteverde. Some of the clips included were from the Venice Film Festival, WAGI film screening, World Class Philippines Awards and Gawad Urian.

“Thank you [Erik Matti],” Arcilla captioned his Instagram post on Monday, Feb. 27.

“I was grateful for two years now and I still am,” he added.

In a separate post, Arcilla shared photos of him with Matti and Monteverde, saying, “We are a team and we are friends.”

Arcilla then earned the admiration of netizens who commended him via the comments section, with one saying that this should already resolve whatever rift there was between him and Matti.

Matti earlier aired his frustration after the actor and Star Magic did not mention the said film in their Instagram posts about the Senate Resolution commending Arcilla for winning the Volpi Cup. The talent agency later edited its caption and credited Matti as well as the film.

Arcilla, who won in 2021 the Venice Film Festival’s the Volpi Cup for his acclaimed portrayal in “On the Job: The Missing 8,” is the first Southeast Asian actor to bag the acting honor.  /ra
