Dennis Trillo shoots last scene as Simoun in ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra: ‘Hanggang sa muli’
Days before the TV series finale, Dennis Trillo gave a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes moments of his last scene in “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” which he regards as one of the most significant projects he had been part of.
The actor received applause and cheers from his co-stars as well as the production team as he wrapped up filming his last scene as Simoun, as seen in a clip on his Instagram page Tuesday, Feb. 21.
“Nais kong ibahagi ang mga kaganapan sa pagtatapos ng aking huling eksena, sa maituturing kong isa sa pinakamakabuluhan at importanteng proyektong kinabilangan ko,” he wrote in the caption.
(I want to share what happened as I ended [filming] my last scene in the show which I consider as one of the most significant and most important projects I had been part of.)
“Nais kong magpasalamat ng buong puso sa bawat tao ng naghirap para pagandahin ang programang ito, at siyempre walang tagumpay kung wala ang mga tumatangkilik,” he continued. “Salamat sa iyo, na minahal at naglaan ng oras para panoorin ang palabas, [thank you]. Mahal ko kayo, hanggang sa muli.”

Trillo was also commended for his effective portrayal by actress Carla Abellana and his “Maria Clara at Ibarra” co-stars David Licauco, Rocco Nacino, Julie Anne San Jose, Jon Lucas as well as Juancho Triviño.
“Maria Clara at Ibarra,” which is based on the novels by Dr. Jose Rizal, revolves around its “El Filibusterismo” arc where Trillo’s Simoun vows revenge against the government. The TV series, which will air its final episode on Friday, Feb. 24, was supposed to end last week, but was extended supposedly due to insistent public demand. /ra
