Blackpink’s Jisoo kicks off filming for solo music video at overseas location
Jisoo, lead vocalist and visual of K-pop powerhouse Blackpink, is one step closer to her solo debut as she is currently filming for its music video in an undisclosed location overseas.
The K-pop idol’s label YG Entertainment confirmed via Korean media outlet MBC News on Tuesday, Feb. 21 that the music video for Jisoo’s solo track is being “filmed at an overseas location in strict secrecy.” The country, however, has yet to be disclosed in its release.
“You can look forward to it as we invested the largest production cost ever among BLACKPINK videos,” the music label added.
Jisoo is the fourth Blackpink member to debut as a solo artist following Jennie in November 2018, Rosé in March 2021, and Lisa in September 2021. Reports about her solo release first surfaced in January 2023, which was confirmed by YG Entertainment.
The Blackpink member previously made her acting debut with a cameo appearance in the 2015 K-drama “The Producers,” and starred in her first lead role Eun Young-ro in the drama “Snowdrop” in December 2021.
She is also an ambassador of various luxury brands, making an appearance at the Paris Fashion Week in September 2021 and September 2022, and a haute couture show in January 2023.
Blackpink is currently embarking on their “Born Pink” world tour and is set to meet their Filipino fans on March 25 and 26 at the Philippine Arena. EDV
