MANILA, Philippines—Sirene Sutton has been modeling even before finishing as first runner-up in the first-ever Miss Global Philippines pageant held in 2014. She continues to model up to this day and has become one of the most sought-after muses on the runway, as well as in print and TV ad campaigns.

The Inquirer sat with the 28-year-old Filipino top model at the recent “launch party” hosted by NuSkin at Exquadra Tower at the Ortigas Center in Pasig City to discuss her decade-long career in the fashion and modeling industry.

She confessed that she has to be “religious” with her skin-care regimen. “Because of my age, I feel like I have to be consistent in terms of my skin care,” Sutton said.

She said she does not find it hard at all to observe the skin-care regimen she practices. During the last holiday season when almost everybody attended festivities day in and day out, Sutton said she just mostly stayed at home.

She also said that she still puts makeup on when going out, but she makes sure to remove them, before proceeding to her usual routine. “Just be consistent and use less products. Because the simpler the skin care the more your skin is gonna feel good,” Sutton said.

And for those aspiring to break into the modeling world, she gave this advice: “Just always work hard, and stay kind, and always be humble and never forget where you came from. Keep going to the castings and fittings.”  /ra
