Award-winning actress Maja Salvador and Olympic champion weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz were among the chosen personalities to be honored with their own five-point brass stars in the Eastwood City Walk of Fame.

Aside from Salvador and Diaz, other inductees include content creators Ranz Kyle Guerrero and Niana Guerrero, entertainment journalist Mario Dumaual, singer Janet Basco, broadcast journalist Gerry Baja, and National Artist for Literature Ricky Lee on Wednesday night, Jan. 18, as seen on Eastwood City’s video uploaded on its Facebook page.

The relatives of the late Tony Mabesa also received the posthumous award for his contributions to theater.

Salvador expressed her gratitude for being among the notable personalities inducted on the Walk of Fame, as seen on her Instagram account on Thursday, Jan. 19.

“Ang magtrabaho at malagay sa hanay ng mga iniidolo ko, at mga haligi ng industriya, ay isang karangalan na papahalagahan ko magpakailanman [emojis] Maraming maraming salamat sa regalong ito sa aking 20th year sa showbiz,” she wrote.

(To do my job and be recognized along with my idols, the best of the industry, is an honor that I will treasure forever. Thank you very much for this gift that was given on my 20th year in showbiz.)

Salvador’s fiancé Rambo Nuñez congratulated the actress for her latest milestone, as well as fellow celebrities Kakai Bautista, Empoy, Jake Cuenca, Sarah Lahbati, and Janine Gutierrez.

Meanwhile, Diaz took to her Instagram account to thank the award-giving body for her recent accolade. The weightlifter was also spotted with her husband Julius Naranjo and fellow awardees in her post.

“Salamat sa karangalan na ito. Di ko inakala nandito pangalan ko sa [emoji] na ito sa Walk of Fame dito sa Eastwood kasama ko ay ang National Artist natin si Sir @rickyleeph , ang idol ko sa pagaartista @maja, si @mariodumaual nakikita ko sa mga showbiz news, @ranzandniana #janetbasco @itsmegerryb #tonymabesa,” she said.

The weightlifter also dedicated her award to God and the Philippines.

“Behind the success there’s a husband behind it. Behind the glamorous dress, shoes, make up, napapagod din ang atleta [emoji] [S]a lahat ng award at fame na ito, ang glory parin ay para kay God at sa [Pilipinas],” she added.

Also known as Walk of Fame Philippines, the award-giving body recognizes notable personalities for their contributions to the film, television, music, theater, news and public affairs, sports, radio, and social media industries.
