‘Share the Light’ runs successful campaign for second year in a row
Christmas has been a well-loved occasion for many Filipino families for decades, and ways to celebrate the same ranges from spending time together, sharing meals, and even attending events with family and friends.
To share the joy with Filipino families, McDonald’s, through its charity of choice, Ronald McDonald House Charities Philippines or RMHC, and Coca Cola Philippines partnered to launch a donation drive and Christmas party for residents of Sitio Pinto in Rodriguez Rizal.
Right from the get-go, the event already started on a good note. Welcoming the guests was event program host Sabrina San Diego, while opening remarks were given by Brgy. Captain Karen Hernandez.
The event was attended by 100 families, consisting of two adults and two children —or a total of 400 individual participants. Aside from the residents, guests included Sitio Pintor Barangay Captain Karen Hernandez, Ronald McDonald House Charities Philippines Executive Director Marie Angeles, Coca Cola Philippines Key Accounts Senior Manager Anna Taruc, and Brand Manager Patty Manalaysay.
The kids enjoyed fun-filled games and activities such as the Newspaper Dance, Trip to Jerulasem, and Pahabaan. The mood was elevated with performances from Ronald, Grimace, Hamburglar and Birdie, and Asia’s Soul Supreme, KZ Tandingan who performed hits “O Pare Ko,” “Magasin,” and “’Til My Heartaches End” for all event attendees.
Before wrapping up and in the true spirit of Christmas, McDonald’s and Coca Cola distributed Kindness Kitchen meals, Noche Buena packs consisting of 8-pc Chicken McShare packs and 1.5L Coca Cola bottles, and Happy Meal toys.
The Homeowners’ Association President ended the event with a closing remark alongside brand reps.
McDonald’s and Coca-cola shared that they hope to continue their commitment to improve the lives of people in need through the spirit of kindness and togetherness.
