The 48th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) kicked off on a high, as celebrities expressed their gratitude to supporters after the festival’s “Parade of Stars” in Quezon City on Wednesday.

The participating films in the MMFF include “Deleter,” “Family Matters,” “Mamasapano: Now It Can Be Told,” “My Father, Myself,” “Labyu With an Accent,” “Nanahimik ang Gabi,” “Partners in Crime,” and “My Teacher.” The festival will run from Dec. 25 to Jan. 7, 2023.

The stars included in these eight film entries took to their personal Instagram accounts to share glimpses of what went down at the star-studded parade.

“Labyu With An Accent” lead star Jodi Sta. Maria recalled her favorite memories at the “Parade of Stars” through a series of photos uploaded on her Instagram account on Thursday, Dec. 22. 

“Stay safe everyone and magkita-kita po tayo sa mga sinehan sa December 25 [emojis] Suportahan po sana natin ang lahat ng walong [entries] ng Metro Manila Film Festival,” Sta. Maria said.

On the other hand, Ivana Alawi of “Partners In Crime” shared a series of Instagram Stories during the parade, including a video of her supporters waving at her excitedly.

“My Teacher” actress Toni Gonzaga reshared posts from fans on her Instagram account, where she stood alongside fellow castmates Kakai Bautista, Loisa Andalio, and Ronnie Alonte.

Meanwhile, “Family Matters” star Agot Isidro took to social media to share photos of herself with Mylene Dizon, Nikki Valdez, JC Santos, and other castmates. She also invited her followers to “feel the love” with her upcoming film. 

“This Christmas at sa lahat ng oras (and at all times), #FamilyMatters. Ang mga katrabaho na naging pamilya. Ang pelikula na di namin kailangan umarte. Panoorin ninyo and feel the love,” Isidro said.

McCoy de Leon of the horror film “Deleter,” on the other hand, shared a video of his supporters at the Quezon City Memorial Circle on his Instagram Stories.

The Parade of Stars on Wednesday signaled the beginning of the festival, which covered the 7.36 kilometer stretch of Quezon Avenue, from Welcome Rotonda to Quezon Memorial Circle. It was the first time the parade was held after two years when the pandemic resulted in restriction of movement of citizens to prevent the spread of COVID-19. EDV
