From her assessment, Vice Ganda feels that his Jack Cayanan character in “Partners In Crime”, his entry into this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival, is something that the ordinary Filipino can very well relate with.
“‘Pag napanood ninyo na, (If you watch it) this is everyone’s story. This is your story,” she related during the movie’s grand mediacon, Tuesday, December 13.
His character, a TV host who lost his voice and who faced various struggles is something that relatable.
(It’s a story of many Filipinos who are always rushing, who are suicidal, who are making sacrifices for work for the people they love. This is a story of many breadwinners. It’s a story of OFWs. This is the story of many people who are tired but they can’t stop. They don’t know when to stop or how they will stop.)
His character, Jack, went through a lot and easily, Vice Ganda feels that it’s something that many people can identify with.
(My character, Jack, what she went through, the state of his mind, that is the state of many Filipinos go through now).
Also starring Ivana Alawi, “Partners in Crime” is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina. EDV
