TOKYO, Japan — Binibining Pilipinas Hannah Arnold moves one step closer to the Miss International crown as she advances to the semifinal round of the competition here.
The 26-year-old Australian-Filipino forensic scientist and model was the fifth to be called among the Top 15 delegates announced in the international pageant’s 60th edition, taking place at the Tokyo Dome City Hall.
The 66 delegates were divided into geographic regions, and the delegates who topped the online poll from each group advanced to the next stage of the competition.

Sireethorn Leearamwat, the first Miss International winner from Thailand and the longest-reigning winner in the pageant’s history, will relinquish her title at the end of the competition. She won the crown in 2019, but had her reign extended when the global tilt took a break in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
From among the global competitions currently running, the Philippines found its most success in the Miss International pageant with six winners—Gemma Cruz in 1964, Aurora Pijuan in 1970, Melanie Marquez in 1979, Precious Lara Quigaman in 2005, Bea Rose Santiago in 2013, and Kylie Verzosa in 2016.
