Singer Erik Santos penned a tribute to his mother, Angelita Santos, who passed away last Nov. 25.

Santos made public his homage to his mom in an Instagram post today, Dec. 1, sharing a photo of her while in a wheelchair.

“Nanay, I know you are in a better place now. BEST place actually kasi kasama mo na si (where you are with) Papa JESUS. No more pain, no more NGT, no more pig tails, no more catheters, no more tests and scans, wala nang mga nakatusok sa katawan mo, no more chemo, no more blood transfusion, no more oxygen tank, no more bed sores, no more diapers, makakahinga ka na ng mapayapa (you can breathe in peace) without any machine, no more cancer,” he said.

The singer enumerated things that he would miss now that her mom is gone. He misses taking care of her, her recipes, her laughter, their banters, their coffee sessions, her kisses and hugs and daily prayers.

“Ma-mi miss kita tooth brushan, linisan, hugasan, palitan ng diapers, buhatin para umupo, ma-mi miss kita i-nebulize, ma-miss kita i massage, ma-mi miss ko ang mga tawa mo Nay, yung mga jokes mo. Ma-mi miss kita katabi sa pagtulog. I will miss everything about you,” he said. (I will miss brushing your teeth, cleaning, washing and changing diapers, lifting you up to let you sit, will miss you getting nebulized, massaging you, your laughter, your jokes. I will miss you as we sleep together.)

“Thank you very much for fighting for us until your very last breath. You have fought the good fight. Napaka tapang mo Nanay (You’re so storng, Mom),” he said.

If it’s any consolation, Santos knows that “you are very happy now with our Lord Jesus Christ.”

“I know, that you will always be there to guide me, si tatay at mga kapatid ko (dad and my siblings). You are now our guardian angel. What a perfect name it is – ANGELITA,” he said.

Santos said that he will always love his mom and that she will never be forgotten.

“NEVER! You will always be in our hearts FOREVER. I know someday, we will see each other again,” he said.

“Mahal na mahal na mahal kita, Nanay ko. (I love you very, very much, my mom). You may now rest in the loving arms of God,” he finally said.  /ra
