Reporters banned from buffet at starlet’s party

Seasoned Starlet’s popularity has waned. Desperate to revitalize her career, SS invited media friends to a party.

The plan backfired as the journalists complained of discrimination most foul.

Instead of being shown to the buffet spread, the guests were herded to the back of the room and each given one cup of rice and a piece of chicken.

When stories of the incident spread throughout Show Town, SS wept buckets. Serves her right.

Girl for hire

Sexy Starlet has a dirty little secret: Before show biz beckoned, she worked as a high-class escort, charging over P30,000 per date.

Now that she has earned a little bit of celebrity, SS has jacked up her asking price. This makes us wonder which of her occupations is more profitable.

Two-timing hunk

Rich Benefactor dumped Hunky Actor. HA had been draining RB’s resources by demanding expensive gifts— ranging from gadgets to real estate.

RB got fed up, especially after learning that HA was dating Influential Gay on the side. In no mood to share toys, RB stopped coughing up HA’s monthly allowance.

Singing the blues

Friends are seriously concerned because Veteran Actress has hit a rough patch again.

A string of personal tragedies left VA slightly unhinged and acting erratically in public. She sought treatment and mercifully recovered.

But of late, VA seems to be once again feeling the blues. Apart from neglecting show biz commitments, she was seen behaving strangely, talking to imaginary friends. In public.

Cokehead

Promising Hunk is no longer as desirable as he used to be.

Insiders surmise it’s because of his hard-living, hard-rocking lifestyle and an addiction to coke. Not the soda.

Turns out, PH snorts the stuff before going onstage. Thus, his performance suffers and he often ends up looking like a manic fool. Worse, his voice has lost its power as well.

Good boy

On the other hand, things are going very well indeed for good boy and very good singer Marvin Ong, who just signed a management/recording contract with Viva Entertainment.

Ong just finished doing “Sound of Music” (where he played the young Nazi Rolf) at Resorts World. This  week, his new album, “Sigaw ng Puso,” carrying three of his original compositions, will be released under Viva Records.

Top of the Talk Shows

For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):

Isabel Oli on how she feels about her father’s death: “Parang bitter in a sense na wala na siya. But sweet kasi I know na nasa heaven siya.” (Ah, bittersweet!)

Yna Asistio on doing a production number in “Party Pilipinas” with boyfriend Mark Herras, and rumored third party Kris Bernal: “Medyo, siyempre, kinabahan ako kasi parang ang weird lang after gawan ng issue and all … pero sabay kaming nag-rehearse ni Kris.” (Parang choreographed—yung number.)

Vic Sotto on his alleged plans to enter politics: “Kung meron mang plano pagdating sa pulitika, sa akin manggagaling ang announcement.” (It used to be a flat “no”—nag-iiba na ba ang ihip ng hangin?)

Phillip Salvador, asked if he’d leave show biz, should he become vice governor of Bulacan: “Hindi ko siguro maiiwanan kasi ’yan ang kinamulatan ng aking mga mata  …  ito ang bumuhay sa ’min, kahit kailan ’di namin matatalikuran.” (Kahit during the campaign period?)

Ruffa Gutierrez, fuming after she was asked by Mr. Fu on who among Aga Muhlach, Robin Padilla and Zoren Legaspi (former boyfriends) is the best-endowed: “You’re so gross. I’m not answering that!” (Yikes, that’s so gross!)

Eric Quizon, asked how he stays strong in the face of his father’s critical condition: “Marami kaming nagtutulungan at nagsusuportahan … kung merong nagiging emosyonal, maraming nagko-console. Hindi lang sampung kamay ang nasa likod ko.” (Well said.)

JERICHO Rosales

Jericho Rosales, asked if there’s competition between him and “Dahil sa Pag-ibig” coactor Piolo Pascual: “OK lang, tanggap ko naman na mas malaki ’yung chest at biceps niya!” (We should take a poll here: How did viewers feel about the exchange between Echo and Piolo on nationwide television? Hmmm, ’wag na lang.)

Jericho Rosales, asked if girlfriend Kim Jones is “the one”: “Sa lahat naman ng girlfriends mo you hope for the best. [With Kim,] my fans and my family, isa lang sinasabi— ang gaan-gaan niyang kasama.” (Si ano ba, mabigat?)

KC Concepcion, asked about her love life: “Nung umpisa, I was scared; right now I’m being very careful …  kasi recently, parang nag-decide ako na non-show biz na lang ang maganda for me.” (’Wag magsalita nang tapos, hija.)

KC Concepcion on what she’s looking for in a boyfriend: “Somebody who’s humble and hardworking. Ang weird, eh pero andun ’yung feeling na gusto ko ’yung next ko, ’yun na talaga … para kasing ’di ko na kayang makipag-break!” (Kami rin—we can’t do that again!)

ANGELINE Quinto

Cristine Reyes apologizes to sister Ara Mina: “I would like to apologize if ever I offended you at sumama loob mo sa ’kin. I tried my best na pumunta sa’yo … sinabi ko pa sa’yo, kung gusto mo luluhod ako sa harapan mo. Sana lumambot na puso mo sa ’kin para maayos na ’tong gulo. Para sa ikatatahimik ng pamilya natin.” (Ang tawag d’yan, turning the tables.)

(Tale as old as time …  bakit ang daming ganito sa show biz? And the story breaks at critical points in their careers. We’re not saying they’re not true, ha?)

Newbie Kapuso hunk Benjamin Alves, asked if being Piolo Pascual’s nephew is an advantage: “Advantage talaga. You get noticed faster … it’s a challenge and I welcome it.” (Ask us about this!)
