MANILA, Philippines — Married women or mothers who love traveling and have a knack for tourism promotions are invited to take part in the inaugural edition of the Mrs. Face of Tourism Philippines pageant, with the initial screening scheduled on Sept. 9.

Application will be open until February 2023, but those who will qualify in the first day of auditions this week will already take part in a preliminary activity, organizer Annie Refrea told the Inquirer in an interview.

“Some of the earlier qualifiers will grace the opening of the ‘Travel Brands and Lifestyle Fair’ presented by Metro Creative Themes Inc. (MCT),” she shared. Pageant partner National Association of Independent Travel Agencies (NAITAS) is a co-presentor of the event, which is scheduled on Sept. 16 to 18 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The Mrs. Face of Tourism Philippines pageant plans to have 30 official candidates, who will be presented in February next year. They will take part in a food crawl and famtour in partnership with NAITAS, and will also participate in a “Santacruzan” in May with the support of various local government units.

The coronation night is scheduled in the middle of next year. Three winners will be crowned — Mrs. Face of Tourism Philippines, Mrs. Face of Culture and Heritage, and Mrs. Face of Ecotourism — with a subsidiary title called Mrs. Face of Elegance.

As of this writing, two of the winners will represent the Philippines in different international competitions next year.

Aside from the opportunity to compete in an international tilt, the winners will also enjoy free local and international travels, and gifts from the pageant’s sponsors. She will also be qualified to join NAITAS’ activities in the Philippines and abroad.

For information on how to apply, and for other requirements, interested persons may call 0977-2439677 or e-mail mrsfotphl@gmail.com.

Refrea said she hopes to crown “a relatable woman who has a compelling story to share, can influence others” with her “irresistible charm as a tourism advocate in her city or municipality.” JB
