Lovely Abella disclosed that she got infected with the novel coronavirus for the second time, saying her symptoms now are far worse than what she had experienced before.
The actress opened up about her bout with the disease while showing the COVID-19 test kits she had with positive results, through her Instagram page yesterday, Aug. 22.
“Yes, vaccinated ako may booster pa pero pakiramdam ko mas malakas siya, mas malala ang symptoms na nararamdaman ko ngayon. Mas natakot ako ‘di para sa sarili ko kundi para sa anak ko at mga mas matanda sakin,” she said. “Di pa din tayo safe — ang mundong ginagalawan natin ay di pa din safe.”
(Yes, I am vaccinated and even had my booster, but I feel like this is worse than before—I have worse symptoms now. I am afraid not for myself but for my child and those older than me. We are still not safe—the world we are living in is still not safe.)
Abella also infected her husband, actor Benj Manalo, who had a direct contact with her when she tested positive for the virus. She then urged the public to still be cautious about their health and also consider the welfare of others.
“[Madami] akong plano this year pero nabago dahil sa paalala na di pa din safe ang mundo. Nag-ingat naman ako pero siguro may nakaligtaan ako kaya muli [nagka-COVID-19] ako,” she stated. “Kaya please, tripleng ingat, malakas siya at kawawa ang mga mahihina ang resistensiya.”
(I have a lot of plans, but they all changed because [I was reminded] that the world is still not safe. I was cautious, but maybe I overlooked some safety measures that’s why I got COVID-19 again. So please, be triply cautious. [The virus] is strong and pity those who have weak immune systems.)
Abella first tested positive for COVID-19 in 2020. Abella was asymptomatic at the time, but she disclosed that the experience had traumatized her. /ra
