Pops Fernandez said she’s happy her son Robin Nievera and ex-girlfriend Zia Quizon are still good friends even if things didn’t work out for them.
“I was sad when I found out that they were no longer together. But of course, they have their own reasons. But I know they have remained good friends. And I think Robin is still very much in touch with her,” Pops said at a press conference for her upcoming concert, “Four Kings and a Queen,” on Aug. 26 and Aug. 27 at Resorts World Manila.

New relationships
Robin, Pops’ and Martin Nievera’s eldest son, is in a new relationship in the United States, where he’s currently based. Meanwhile, Zia, the child of the late show biz icon Dolphy and Zsa Zsa Padilla, tied the knot with her Serbian boyfriend, Aleksa Rahul, in the latter’s home country last July.
Robin and Zia first dated in 2017. While it wasn’t clear when exactly the two ended their relationship, Zia did post a birthday greeting for Robin in November last year on Instagram, saying, “Break na tayo pero friends forever.”
“That’s the good thing. Whatever happened to them, they still ended up as good friends. And they don’t have problems,” said Pops, who had nothing but good words for Zia.
“She’s a kind girl … sweet and nice. Congrats to Zia and best wishes,” she added. “I’m happy for her.”
