Ogie Alcasid gave fans an update on his health and disclosed that he got infected with the novel coronavirus for the first time since the pandemic started.
The singer-TV host revealed his diagnosis while urging the public to take care of themselves, through his Twitter page today, Aug. 14.
“Finally got [COVID-19] today after [two] and a half years. We test everyday sa (at) work and keep ourselves protected and yet inabot din (I still got it),” he said.

Alcasid also showed the COVID-19 test kits he had with two red lines indicating the positive result, via his Instagram page, also today.
“Let’s do this Lord,” he stated.
Fellow celebrities who sent their well-wishes and prayed for Alcasid’s fast recovery include Chito Miranda, Joshua Garcia, Jolina Magdangal and Kim Chiu.
Cases of COVID-19 in the country have been consistently increasing for the past few months, with the positivity rate still at 18.4% nationwide yesterday, Aug. 13, according to independent analytics group OCTA Research. The country currently has 40,324 active cases, as per Department of Health’s COVID-19 tracker. JB
