Bianca King is nearly “back to normal” over a year after she underwent a shoulder surgery, which she described as a “horrifying experience” that left her feeling depressed.

The actress gave a glimpse of her strength and flexibility progress in a compilation video on her Instagram page on Tuesday, Aug. 2. She also recounted the medical journey she went through, from being misdiagnosed to having her operation in Sydney.

“In July 2021, I had shoulder surgery called biceps tenodesis to fix a [dislocated] shoulder that was causing daily pain. I was misdiagnosed in the Philippines with a rotator cuff tear,” she narrated. “Luckily, I did another MRI in Sydney and the diagnosis was joint instability and a split in my biceps anchor with calcific tendonitis. Inflammation and pain caused by the loose shoulder.”

King underwent physiotherapy and went back to working out six months after the surgery. She then recalled the pain the operation caused her, which took a toll on her and made her feel “weak and skinny.” Despite this, the actress noted that she is “extremely grateful” for her experience.

“I was depressed being isolated at home during the peak of the pandemic, not being [able to bathe] myself properly or cook my own food, mostly laying in bed feeling down and crying to my friends on the phone,” she stated.

“Now I feel ALMOST back to normal but extremely grateful for having gone through that horrifying experience of joint surgery. And the best part of it all was my bond with my husband became stronger as he stepped up to take care of me when I couldn’t take care of myself,” she added, referring to her non-showbiz partner Ralph Wintle.

Fellow celebrities Iza Calzado, Beauty Gonzalez and Carla Humphries cheered King on for her determination and lauded her progress. JB
