DOLPHY

MANILA, Philippines — Actor Rodolfo “Dolphy” Quizon tried to breathe on his own for a couple of hours early Thursday but was put back on a respirator, one of his sons said.

“He was put back on respirator after five hours without kasi hindi kaya [because he couldn’t do it],” said Rolly Quizon, who along with his siblings, has been watching over his dad since Wednesday at the Makati Medical Center.

Quizon said Dolphy, dubbed the “Comedy King” of Philippine movies, was also able “to urinate a small amount today”.

“Yesterday he had difficulty urinating. He could not urinate,”Quizon said.

“We are not losing hope that his life could be extended. He’s still fighting. He’s always been a fighter,” he said.

He also said that all of Dolphy’s children were with him and went home only to take a bath.

“He knows he has a lot of admirers and were still calling on them to continue praying for his recovery,” Quizon said.
