As you become more mature, you tend to push back your timeline,” said actress Sue Ramirez when Inquirer Entertainment asked at what age does she picture herself settling down and raising a family of her own.
Sue, who has been dating Victorias City Mayor-elect Javi Benitez for almost two years now, said: “If you asked me a few years ago, I would have told you that this was really part of my immediate plan. But as I grew older, I realized that I don’t have to settle down right away. At 25, there’s no timeline for me right now. I think I’m going through a quarter-life crisis,” she quipped.
Good, necessary process
“However, I think it’s a good and necessary process for me. I know that it’s normal, that it’s something most people my age go through. It’s like when you’re young, you tend to always be in a hurry to accomplish things; you’re in a hurry to give yourself a happy ending when in fact, what you should be doing is enjoying the process, and absorbing everything that you can,” she explained further. “Becoming mature means having a better understanding of what’s going on in your life and of the people around you. In short, I still have no plans whatsoever!”
If there’s anything that she learned from playing her most recent role, that of a mistress in “The Broken Marriage Vow,” it is that one should not be too judgmental of other people’s actions because, like her, they could be going through something difficult emotionally.

“We should first try to find out what these people have gone through in life. It’s possible that they’re waging silent battles right now, even though they appear cheerful in front of us, or even though they are always trying to make the people around them laugh. In reality, we have no clue of what they’re experiencing deep within. We shouldn’t judge them based on the decisions they make. After all, humans are bound to make mistakes,” she pointed out. “As I try to learn from the mistakes of Lexi (her character), I’m now also trying to sort things out in my life as well.”
What Sue is also focused on at the moment is her thriving acting career. She is now promoting the Vivamax film “How to Love Mr. Heartless,” and is doing another digital project, titled “K Love.” Produced by the Hong Kong-based streaming platform Viu, it likewise features Iza Calzado, Jake Cuenca, Isabelle Daza and Gabby Padilla.
Sue also claimed to be loyal and grateful to her beleaguered home network, ABS-CBN. “I started my career as a Kapamilya (what ABS-CBN artists are called). I grew up with this network. You’ve seen me in different Kapamilya-produced projects. This is why the idea of transferring to another network when ABS-CBN was forced to shutdown in 2020 never crossed my mind,” she said. “I’m confident that my home network will find a way to keep our family together, and that’s what ABS-CBN has been doing for us ever since. Being a Kapamilya is a big blessing. It has opened so many doors not just for me, but also for a lot of us artists. The fact that the network is active on all the digital platforms has given us the opportunity to share our talents and to affect the lives of our audience all over the world.”
