Filipino celebrities have taken part in the 2022 national elections happening today, May 9, showing their index fingers marked with indelible ink as proof that they voted, via their respective social media accounts.

Kathryn Bernardo who was with her mother and sister, flashed her index finger, as seen on her Instagram page.

Bea Alonzo prayed for peaceful elections while urging the public to vote wisely.

Kim Chiu, meanwhile, described voting as the “most precious right of every Filipino,” as per her Instagram page.

“Kung ano man po ang desisyon niyo ngayon, isipin po natin pang 6 years po ito ng buhay ng bawat Pilipino,” she said.

(Whatever your decision may be, let us bear in mind that this will [affect] the lives of every Filipino for six years.)

Angelica Panganiban cast her vote alongside her non-showbiz boyfriend Gregg Homan, stating that their vote is dedicated to the country and to the youth.

Jolina Magdangal, for her part, addressed her children Pele and Vika, while doing a joint finger-heart pose with her husband, Rivermaya drummer Mark Escueta.

“May 9, 2022, ito ang aming resibo na kami ni Papa ay tumindig, pinaglaban at pinanindigan ang inyong magandang kinabukasan,” the actress-TV host said. (May 9, 2022, this is the proof that your father and I stood up and fought for a good future for you.)

Celebrity couple Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez have also shown their inked fingers and informed their fans that they already voted.

Meanwhile, Michael V. reminded the public to exercise their right to vote, as well as to respect the choices of their fellow Filipino citizens.

“Best of luck to our next president… whoever she may be,” he stated.

Liza Soberano, a first time voter, made a finger heart gesture while donning a pink shirt.

Other celebrities who have already voted as of this writing are Jake Ejercito, Janine Gutierrez, Melai Cantiveros, Robi Domingo, Dominic Roque, Francine Diaz, Maris Racal and Alora Sasam, among others.

The national elections started at 6 a.m. and is scheduled to close at 7 p.m. So far, there have been multiple reports about malfunctioning vote counting machines although the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said that these issues have already been resolved. JB
