We’re not worried about her at all,” says actor and Optical Media Board (OMB) chairperson Jeremy Marquez about her sister, Winwyn Marquez, who recently gave birth to her first child.
“She has a very strong personality. If ever she’d get married, we’d be more worried about her husband—baka i-under n’ya (a henpecked husband). We’re also very excited for her. We will all know her plans soon. As of now, know that she’s happy and that she’s taking care of herself for the baby,” said Winwyn’s brother.
The actress first admitted to being involved in a romantic relationship in February 2021, but kept her partner’s identity private. She announced that she was pregnant in December.
‘Mothers still know best’
“I’m very happy for her. We’re happy that she [and the baby are] healthy and feel assured that she knows exactly what to do. In terms of having a child, mothers still know best. She’s doing it all,” Jeremy said.
When Inquirer Entertainment asked what his advice to his sister would be, the brother said: “I just want to say to her that it won’t be easy. When it does get hard, whether emotionally, spiritually, or financially, or when she feels stressed or tired, we’ll be here for her. The whole family is here to back her up.”
He continued: “If she is looking for someone to leave her child to for a short while, our dad (actor and former Paranaque City mayor Joey Marquez) said [she should] just give the baby to him. If Wyn is busy, my dad has lots of children who love each other—we’ll be here for them. She just has to take it day by day, to enjoy the moment. It’s not every day that you conceive a child. I have children myself, and I miss those days when I could still carry them around.” INQ
