Winwyn Marquez gets real on postpartum phase: ‘No proper sleep, sore boobs’

Winwyn Marquez opened up on the adjustments she has been going through a week after giving birth to her first child with her non-showbiz boyfriend.
Marquez showed herself cradling her baby Luna in a hospital where they both had their checkup, via her Instagram page yesterday, May 7.
“My doctor checked my sutures dahil I was in a bit of pain (normal delivery ako) but nothing serious naman additional meds lang and hopefully mag-heal na agad. Luna also got checked and healthy baby siya,” she said.
(My doctor checked my sutures because I was in a bit of pain (I had normal delivery) but it was nothing serious. [I was just given] additional medication and hopefully heal quickly. Luna also got checked and she is a healthy baby.)
The actress-beauty queen then talked about the realities she had been dealing with, while expressing gratitude to her partner for assisting her in going through such.
“I’m tired, no proper sleep, boobs are sore from breastfeeding, my body hurts, yung sugat masakit, deadma sa itsura and adjusting ulit sa madaming bagong bagay but Thank God for Luna’s daddy kasi he has been taking care of me while I take care of our baby,” she shared.
(I am tired, no proper sleep, boobs are sore from breastfeeding, my body hurts, the wound hurts, I do not care about my appearance and I am still adjusting to a lot of things. But thank God for Luna’s daddy because he has been taking care of me while I take care of our baby.)
According to Marquez, her partner has been taking care of her by doing chores, including changing diapers, washing their baby’s bottles and preparing their food.
“Mini-make sure niya we have what we need lalo na sobrang nag-aadjust ako sa lahat and nahihirapan ng konti,” she added. “Kahit pagod kaming [dalawa] makita lang namin si Luna na maayos, worth it lahat ng pagod!! Ngiti at saya pa din ang kapalit.”
(He is making sure that we have what we need, especially now that I am seriously adjusting to everything and I am having a bit of a hard time. Even when we are both tired, just seeing Luna okay makes the tiredness worth it. We still get to smile and be happy in return.)
Marquez, who celebrates Mother’s Day for the first time as a mom, concluded her post by sending out greetings and well wishes to all mothers, as well as fathers who serve as mothers to their children.

Marquez gave birth to her daughter last week and introduced her to the public by giving a glimpse of the child’s face. The actress confirmed her pregnancy last December, after weeks of speculations from fans.
Meanwhile, Marquez is keeping the identity of her partner secret from the public and described him as a “very private person.” JB
