MANILA, Philippines — The Binibining Pilipinas pageant opened its 2022 season with a bang with the presentation of 40 contestants on April 22, composed of a stellar roster of aspirants which includes national and international titleholders. But the premier beauty contest is having a shakeup this early with the announcement of three new contenders.
In an e-mail, the Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) said Patricia Ann Tan, Maria Isabel David and pageant veteran Joanna Marie Rabe are going to continue their quest for beauty titles after their initial exclusion in the official list of candidates presented last week.
The three additions to the roster will replace Gwendoline Meliz Soriano, Iman Francesca Cristal and 2021 Bb. Araneta City Maria Franchesca Taruc, who withdrew from the competition.
The BPCI said in a statement that it has accepted the withdrawal of the three former contestants.
“We thank them for their time and we wish them well in their future plans,” the organization said.
It likewise congratulated the three new additions to the roster. “Congratulations, and welcome to the #BinibiniSisterhood,” BPCI stated.
