Miley Cyrus will have to sit out her upcoming Grammy Awards party performance after testing positive for COVID-19.

The American pop star disclosed her condition to the public via a series of posts on her Twitter account today, April 2. She had been touring around Latin America over the past week.

“Traveling around the world, playin’ for a 100,000 people a night [and] meeting hundreds of fans a day, the chances of getting [COVID-19] are pretty high. I have [COVID-19] now but it was definitely worth it,” she told fans.

Given her condition, Cyrus will have to miss Steven Tyler’s Grammy Awards viewing party, which benefits the nonprofit organization Janie’s Fund. The initiative was created by Tyler to help girls who are victims of abuse and neglect.

“Unfortunately because of this, I’m missing out on Janie’s Fund which sucks because it’s a charity that’s super important to me [and] my friend Steven Tyler,” Cyrus said, at the same time assuring the public that she was “feeling fine.”

Prior to this, a plane that Cyrus was riding was struck by lightning last March 23. The plane was en route to a music festival near Paraguay, where the singer was supposed to perform.

Cyrus was traveling with her crew, band, friends and family. She said  everyone was safe after an emergency landing.

The festival was suspended by organizers due to the weather alert. Cyrus flew to Sao Paulo, Brazil, several hours after the incident.  /ra
