Filipino indie films have finally found a home on the Net. Two independent film companies, Origin8 and Epicmedia, have teamed up with YouTube to make award-winning full-length and short films from the Philippines readily available to a global audience. The YouTube channel, according to Pepe Diokno of Epicmedia, is called YouTube Pelikula. “It opened on Monday with the acclaimed film Auraeus Solito’s ‘Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros’ as maiden offering.” Diokno said the channel will be formally launched in July.
