Edu Manzano did not hesitate to express his willingness to have a child with girlfriend Cherry Pie Picache, if they would be given a chance.
“Who wouldn’t want babies? I’d love to have one, oo naman (of course, yes),” Manzano said in response to a fan question (“Would you still want to have a baby given the chance?”) read in a vlog on Picache’s YouTube channel yesterday, Feb. 12.
Manzano also spoke about how he wants to dance with his child on her 18th birthday, which he was not able to do with Addie, his daughter with model Rina Samson.
“Nung kay Addie kasi hindi, naghanda ako, nagpa-dancing lessons pa ako tapos sabi niya, ‘Daddy ‘yung gagastusin sa party, punta na lang kami ng mga kaibigan ko sa [Boracay],” he laughingly recalled. “Pinaghandaan ko pa naman, pinag-ipunan ko pero ang importante naman ‘yung kaligayahan niya, hindi ‘yung akin.”
(Back then with Addie, I prepared and even had dancing lessons then she said, “Daddy, I’ll just use the money allotted for the party on a Boracay trip with my friends.” I even prepared and saved for it but what’s important is her happiness, not mine.)
Picache, for her part, told fans that she also shares the same sentiment with Manzano.
“Lalo na ako (Most especially me), I only have one. It would be nice. Siguro ang ganda ng anak natin ‘no? (Maybe our daughter would be beautiful, right?)” she said.
Manzano then talked about their relationship and what makes it special, noting how they do not crave attention or publicity.
“We are not seeking anyone’s approval,” he stated. “Nothing to hide — we’re just being ourselves.”
The veteran actors confirmed their relationship in November last year. The couple have since been enjoying trips with each other’s families, the recent one being their Palawan trip with Picache’s son, actor Nio Tria. JB
