Rufa Mae Quinto offered her apologies and condolences to Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst’s family, after admitting that she made her “sana all” (I wish all) remark on a post about Kryst’s death without reading the full caption first.
Quinto explained that she had no intention of disrespecting Kryst with her now-deleted “sana all” comment on a photo carousel shared by website Kami, as seen on its Instagram page on Thursday, Feb. 3. The photos showed Kryst in a swimsuit, a pink ensemble and sportswear.
“[Pasensya] na po, my deepest sympathy to her family. Napakaganda at sexy kaya nasabi ko na ‘sana all ganyan ka perfect,'” she said.
(I’m sorry, my deepest sympathy to her family. [She’s] so beautiful and sexy that’s why I said, “I wish everyone is as perfect [as her].”)
She then admitted that she only read the beginning of the caption, leaving the part where Kryst’s death was mentioned.
“Nabilib kasi ako sa ganda and sexiness, [nabitin lang] po sa text and yes ‘di ko nabasa buong caption, hanggang [Miss USA lang] po nakita ko. So [yes] read more nga,” she added.
(I was amazed by her beauty and sexiness. I just didn’t see the full text, and yes I didn’t read the entire caption. I only read up to the “Miss USA” part. So yes, [I should have] read more.)

Kryst’s death was confirmed by her family last Sunday Jan. 30. Though her family did not indicate the cause of death in their statement, the New York Police Department reported that the beauty queen took her own life. Kryst was mourned by Filipino beauty queens Catriona Gray, Pia Wurtzbach, Gazini Ganados and actress Marian Rivera who was Kryst’s fellow judge at the recent Miss Universe pageant. JB
