Broadcaster Gretchen Fullido is urging the public to get vaccinated as she recounted in detail her COVID-19 experience, a week after she tested positive for the virus.

Fullido gave an account of her COVID-19 journey through her Instagram page yesterday, Jan. 9. She recounted getting positive results both from antigen and RT-PCR tests last Jan. 3, despite being vaccinated and having her booster shot.

“I immediately went into isolation [and] prepared all the essential supplements and medicines that I need to take to strengthen my immune system for the days ahead. Note that I am fully vaccinated and got my booster shot last December,” she said.

The showbiz-reporter then listed down the symptoms she experienced all throughout the week, including headache, sore throat, cough, colds, shortness of breath and fatigue. She also noted how her sense of taste and smell were fainted for three days.

A week after she tested positive, Fullido’s antigen tests came out negative, but she will still stay in isolation to comply with protocols by the Department of Health (DOH).

“Even if I no longer have symptoms and I feel ok, completing the DOH 10 day isolation and quarantine protocol is a must. Make sure to get your doctor’s clearance if you can be released and to know if you are fit to work,” she noted.

Fullido also reminded the public of the importance of the vaccine, urging them to get vaccinated and be protected against the virus.

“VACCINES REALLY SAVE LIVES. Please get vaccinated [and] get a booster shot as soon as you can so we can protect ourselves [and] others,” she said. “Let’s be responsible and compassionate to one another.”

The DOH reported the country’s highest daily tally yesterday, Jan. 9, with 28,707 new COVID-19 cases. Fifteen confirmed deaths were also added to the death toll, bringing a total of 52,150 deaths due to COVID-19. JB
