Aiming to accelerate its growth in the digital space, the local entertainment company Viva Music and Artists Group Inc. (VMAGI) recently entered a “strategic partnership” with Believe, a leading music publisher and digital distributor in the global market.

Through this deal, artists under VMAGI—which owns Viva Records and Vicor Music—will benefit from Believe’s full range of digital services and solutions, including TuneCore, a global platform that helps independent and up-and-coming musicians build audiences through technology and distribution and promotional services.

In turn, Believe, which acquired a 15-percent stake in VMAGI, stands to strengthen its presence in the Southeast Asian market through VMAGI’s expansive catalog, which spans over 50 years.

Together, VMAGI and Believe intend to provide Filipino artists a development platform that will take care of publishing, sync, branding, merchandising, talent management and digital development.

Exciting

“This is truly an exciting development not only for the two companies but also for all the great and talented Pinoy music artists who dream of making it big in business both here and abroad,” VMAGI chair, president and CEO Vic del Rosario Jr. said in a statement.

Sylvain Delange, managing director for Believe Asia Pacific, added that he hopes that by “leveraging each other’s expertise,” Viva and Believe can “capture the ever-growing opportunities of the Philippine market and contribute to the rise of local artists.”
