Maxene Magalona and her husband Rob Mananquil are speculated by observers to have already broken up after eagle-eyed fans noticed that Magalona has unfollowed Mananquil on Instagram.

Though there is still no confirmation from the two, Magalona spoke about having a “sad soul” while embarking on a solo trip to Boracay, as seen on her Instagram page today, Jan. 2.

“Booking this trip as a gift to myself was definitely the best way I could honor my sad soul,” she said. “I knew I wasn’t feeling my best during the holidays so instead of sulking at home, I thought — why not cry in Boracay and allow the ocean to absorb my tears?”

The actress did not disclose the reason why she feels sad, instead, she appealed to those who are questioning her “peace” despite facing personal struggles.

“Please stop asking me why I am happy and peaceful despite experiencing personal struggles and start praying to God to bless you with the same kind of inner peace that He has been giving me ever since I surrendered myself to His divine plan,” she said.

Meanwhile, Magalona seemingly addressed those who are meddling with her personal life, as seen also on her Instagram page last Friday, Dec. 31.

“It is not polite to ask people about their personal lives especially when you don’t know them personally. And even if you DO know them, you should give them space and wait for them to open up to you instead of prying and wanting to invade their privacy,” she said. “Don’t come to my page for gossip.”

“This is me protecting my energy and setting healthy boundaries for myself,” she added.

Magalona came back to Manila without her husband last March, after the two were stranded in Bali, Indonesia for more than a year amid international border closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Mananquil was completing yoga-related activities and so had to be left behind, while Magalona reportedly needed to come back to Manila already for commitments. The actress then spent her quarantine days on “self-reflection, detoxification and integration.” JB
