Isko Moreno pays homage to his Tondo roots with ‘viral’ music video

MANILA, Philippines — The “Nais Ko” music video that featured Manila Mayor Isko Moreno’s struggles in living in Tondo has reached 1.2 million views in just one day since it premiered on YouTube.

Much like his “Bilis Kilos,” the flow of support for the presidential aspirant is just as fast after the video garnered more than a million views in less than 24 hours.

“Maraming salamat sa inyong suporta! Tuloy tuloy lang tayo sa ating laban!” Moreno said.

Separately, the video has also been liked and shared more than 36,000 and 3,800 times on Facebook.

The music video, in collaboration with rappers Smugglaz and Bassilyo, showed how Moreno faced the difficulties of living in poverty and how he strived out of it.

From collecting garbage early in life, Moreno entered show business. He later left the industry to become a public servant.

Today, Moreno is among the presidential aspirants for the 2022 national election as he envisions duplicating his projects in Manila across the country.
