How stars celebrate 2021 holiday season amid COVID-19

Alden Richards

How are you celebrating the Christmas season to make it more meaningful despite the pandemic?

ALDEN RICHARDS

“I will spend Christmas, New Year’s Day and my birthday (Jan. 2) in San Francisco in the US. After two years, I will finally be able to go on an international flight. Unfortunately, the US has a backlog of applications and the next available slots are in March, so the only one who has a visa is me as well as my cousin. We will fly there and celebrate with our relatives.”

“In order to make the holiday season more meaningful, we have to help others who are in need. That’s what the spirit of Christmas is all about this year, especially because a lot were affected by the pandemic. I will make sure that my family will be involved in gift-giving activities this Christmas.

“My loved ones and I are all good. I’m amazed with my dad because he never got sick, considering that he’d often go out. I would always scold him. I’m convinced that he is a cat with nine lives.

“‘It’s Showtime’ will air live up to the 24th. We will have a weeklong break, then resume work on Jan. 1. This is why I plan to spend my Christmas break at home. It’s still scary to leave the country these days because of the new (Omicron) variant. I told my family, ‘Guys, let’s just love each other at home.’”
