AJ Raval asserted that she did “nothing wrong” amid speculations that she is in a relationship with fellow actor Diego Loyzaga.

Speculations that Loyzaga is cheating on his girlfriend, actress Barbie Imperial, circulated online when social media personality Xian Gaza said the actor visited Raval at her home in Pampanga, as per Gaza’s Facebook page last Nov. 17. Gaza also stated that the couple supposedly had a fight in a hotel, leaving their room with broken appliances.

Raval addressed the cheating speculations in an exclusive interview with Pika Pika yesterday, Dec. 4. She was asked if Loyzaga ever courted her or visited her at her home.

“I think my peace of mind comes from the fact that I did nothing wrong,” Raval stated in the interview. “…Never po nanligaw si Diego sa akin. Wala po kaming naging relationship ni Diego. One time ko lang po siyang nakasama, sa set pa po ng ‘Death of a Girlfriend.’ Ayon lang po.”

(Diego never courted me. We don’t have a relationship. I was with him only once, on the set of “Death of a Girlfriend.” That’s all.)

“Death of a Girlfriend” is a murder mystery film where Raval starred opposite Loyzaga.

The actress then pointed out that she has not been in contact with the couple and her last meeting with Imperial has been a year ago.

“Ever since naging sila, hindi ko na po sila nakausap na dalawa. Wala po kaming connections, wala po kaming contact,” she was quoted as saying. (Ever since they became a couple, I haven’t talked to either of them. We don’t have connections, we don’t have contact.)

Raval then admitted she just laughed off being called a “kabit” (mistress) by Imperial in the latter’s interview with TV host Boy Abunda last month.

“Sunod-sunod na po ’yong issue ko ngayon… Walang totoo, sa totoo lang po. Hindi po totoo. Parang natatawa na lang po ako sa kanila,” she stated in the interview, apparently in reference to her also being linked to the separation of actors Aljur Abrenica and Kylie Padilla. (It’s like issues about me are coming one after the other. None of them are true, to be honest. None are true. I just kind of laugh about them.)

Raval also said she understood Imperial for defending Loyzaga amid the speculations and that she wishes the couple well.

“[Sana] po maging [okay] si Barbie at saka si Diego. ‘Wag po silang magpapadala sa mga sinasabi ng mga tao,” she said. (I hope Barbie and Diego will be okay. [I hope] they don’t get caught up on what other people are saying.)

Raval also reiterated her denial of being in a relationship with Abrenica. She was romantically linked to Abrenica earlier this year, after she admitted they were “getting to know” each other. However, she denied that she was the reason behind the split between him and his estranged wife, Padilla.

“[Wala] naman po kaming relasyon ni Aljur. Never naman po naming sinabi na may relasyon kami ni AJ (Abrenica) at nag-uusap lang naman po kami,” she was quoted as saying. (Aljur and I don’t have a relationship. We never said we have a relationship and we are just talking to each other.)

For Raval, the issue linking her and Abrenica is now “closed” since the former couple have already talked about all that they wanted to say regarding their separation. Dana Cruz/JB
