Richard Reynoso is now recovering after being discharged from the hospital, where he stayed in an intensive care unit for seven days due to critical COVID-19.

The OPM singer announced that he was discharged from the hospital by showing a photo with medical workers on his Instagram page last Tuesday, Nov. 23. He was treated at Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan city.

“‘Mr. Reynoso, we all agreed na for discharge ka na (that you’re for discharge),'” he recalled the doctors telling him. “I thank God for these awesome doctors He provided. These medical specialists strategically kept me from being intubated while I was in ICU.”

He then wished the medical workers good health and safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reynoso also talked about his COVID-19 experience in a video on his Facebook page last Sunday, Nov. 21. According to him, he stayed in the ICU for seven days before he was moved to a private room.

“Muntik na (That was a close call),” he said. “My doctors came in at sabi hindi pala severe ‘yung aking case (and said my case wasn’t severe), prognosis was critical [COVID-19].”

Reynoso then admitted that he is still having a hard time talking, standing up and moving around.

“Ingat po kayo (Take care). [COVID-19] is real and it sucks,” he stressed. “This is a long healing process. Hopefully I’ll be able to get through this and then makakantahan ko na po kayo ulit (I’ll get to sing for you again).”

The singer also reminded the public to stay safe amid the pandemic, noting that he does not want others to go through the same experience as he did.

“‘Di pa po tayo ligtas so please be safe. Hindi niyo po gusto ‘tong experience na ‘to,” he said. “Lalong-lalong ‘di niyo po gusto ‘yung gastos.”

(We’re not safe yet, so please be safe. You would not want this experience. More so, you would not want the expenses that come with it.)

Fellow celebrities expressed relief over Reynoso’s recovery, including Vina Morales and Jackie Lou Blanco.

Reynoso is known for his OPM hits “Paminsan-Minsan,” “Hindi Ko Kaya” and “Maalala Mo Pa Rin,” among others. He is also an actor and a member of The OPM Hitmen.  /ra
