Yael Yuzon is about to treat “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” fans with a new song inspired by the recently concluded Korean drama series.

The singer revealed he wrote a song about “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” in a Twitter post on the day of the series’ finale last Sunday, Oct. 17.

“Wrote a song about ‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.’ Happened [with] ‘Start Up’ last year, happened again with Hometown,” he said. The Sponge Cola vocalist was referring to his band’s song “Siguro Nga” which was inspired by the Korean drama “Start Up.”

Yuzon then commended Kim Seon-ho’s “relatable” character Hong Du-sik, while explaining why he wanted to write a song about “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.”

“I write about things that move me. Nice show no?” he asked fans. “Para kang nagbakasyon sa isang (It’s like you’re on vacation on a) coastal town with lots of love stories unfolding.”

“Different forms of love, daming bases covered, perfect balance ng light [and] weight,” he added. “Parang life lang, minsan mabigat, minsan magaan,” he added. (Just like life, sometimes it’s heavy but sometimes it’s light.)

Yuzon admitted he is still unsure about the song’s title but he is thinking of naming it “Hometown” or “Penguins and Polar Bears,” a reference to a dialogue in the show.

Yuzon appeared to have teased on his Twitter page yesterday, Oct. 18, that he recorded for the new song.

“Recording vocals,” he said. The post was accompanied by a penguin and polar bear emoji, which may suggest he has chosen a title.

“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” is a 16-episode South Korean romantic comedy series that premiered in August this year. It stars actors Shin Min-ah and Kim Seon-ho. JB
