Jessica Sanchez duets among highlights of ‘Idol’ finale

LOS ANGELES — Win or lose, “American Idol” finalist Jessica Sanchez has many fans abuzz as she was scheduled to perform duets in the 11th season’s finale Wednesday night (Thursday morning in Manila) at the Nokia Theatre.

Sanchez will sing with Kristin Chenoweth in “Enough is Enough,” a tribute to the late Donna Summer who sang the hit with Barbra Streisand.

The Filipino-Mexican-American is also getting fans excited with her repeat performance of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” but this time with the original singer of the powerful ballad, Jennifer Holliday.

Fans are lining up at the Nokia Theatre.

Many Filipino-Americans are hoping that their unprecedented voting via online and telephone last night will enable Sanchez  to make history as the first finalist of Filipino heritage to become an “American Idol.”
