NCT 127 finally dropped their 3rd studio album, “STICKER,” today, Sept. 17 (at 1 p.m. Korea Standard Time), proving yet again that they’re not afraid to take risks with their music.

It’s not new for NCT 127 to release a polarizing title track—in fact, it’s what they’re known for in the K-pop industry, often touted as the kings of “noise music.” The title track “STICKER” contains a distinct flute instrumentation, distortion, jarring key chords that bounce on the electronic beat and, of course, NCT 127’s palpable vocal talent. They sing about being madly in love and not being shy about it, asking you to just stay close “like a sticker.”

It has a theatrical, campy feel to it, which is certainly echoed into its music video. In it, they are futuristic cowboys dressed up in colorful, glittery clothing.

If you don’t like the song on first listen, you might find yourself changing your mind after a few more. The song is definitely a grower.

There’s a track for every single type of music listener; if you are into powerful, in-your-face music, you have “Bring the Noize.” If you are someone who enjoys smooth, laid-back music, “Focus” is something you might like. For ballad lovers, you can’t go wrong with “The Rainy Night.” Their colorful discography and their star power as a group are just two of the many reasons why they are a force to be reckoned with in the industry. They are a group worth checking out.
