LOS ANGELES — After round 2, it’s a tie between Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips in their head-to-head for the next “American Idol”.
Jennifer Lopez gave round 2 to Phillips, Steven Tyler for Sanchez while Randy Jackson called it a tie.
Sanchez and Phillips are the final two contestants. The winner will be crowned Wednesday night.
If the 16-year old Sanchez wins, she’ll be first girl to win the competition since Jordin Sparks took home the crown five years ago.
Idol judge Steven Tyler gives her the edge: “She sings so good you can’t deny, but America votes for it, so we’ll see.”
“Idol” judge Randy Jackson gave round 1 to Sanchez after she
sang Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.” Phillips sang “Stand By Me.”
The Filipinos in the media room were jubilant over Jackson’s announcement. With AP
