“It’s a love story worth telling,” said actress Jodi Sta. Maria on why she decided to be a coproducer of the boys’ love film “The Boy Foretold by the Stars,” as well as its sequel, the digital series “Love Beneath the Stars.”

“Aside from that, the dramatic points in the movie are really done beautifully,” Jodi said. “The characters are so relatable and endearing. We know people like them in real life. When you watch it, it has that effect on you. You feel that what you’re seeing is really from a person’s heart.”

When asked to discuss her views on the love shared by two people of the same gender in relation to God and religion, Jodi replied: “What I know about the God we serve is that He is love, and that He neither condemns nor judges. So if He has that kind of character then who are we to judge, condemn or discriminate against others. We are here to love one another … Regardless of gender or race, or social status, love is really universal.”

As for the team that worked on both the film and the digital series, Jodi said: “They went through a lot before these projects were finally released. We’re just blessed with a good director and actors. I couldn’t ask for more.”

“Love Beneath the Stars,” which is currently streaming on iWantTFC, is written and directed by Dolly Dulu. It stars Adrian Lindayag and Keann Johnson. Jodi produced it with her Creative Minds Inc. and partners, filmmaker Derick Cabrido and art director Omar Sortijas.
