It has been months since Kathryn Bernardo’s birthday, but she has not stopped receiving birthday surprises, as her mom just had a taping and vlogging studio constructed for her.
“It’s June already but turns out my birthday celebration isn’t over yet! Thank you so much mama and to everyone who took part in this sweet surprise. I can’t believe I finally have my very own studio!!!” the actress stated on her YouTube vlog yesterday, June 6.
Bernardo could not contain her excitement as she looked around the studio with her boyfriend and fellow actor Daniel Padilla. She uttered “Oh my God” several times and quipped that she did not even put on makeup because she was totally clueless about the project.
“First time ako na-surprise ni DJ. Parating hindi siya maka-keep ng surprise eh. Sobrang zero idea,” she said. (This is the first time DJ surprised me. He always fails at keeping surprises. I totally had no idea.)
Bernardo’s mother, Min, explained that she wanted the studio to be the venue for her daughter’s commercials, pictorials and vlog tapings. She added that she decided to give Bernardo the studio as a surprise birthday gift, noting that the actress was disappointed over their failed attempts to travel amid quarantine.
“Ibibigay ko sana ‘to sa last birthday niya. [Noong] 25th birthday niya hindi siya nakapag-enjoy kasi ito na naman, lockdown na naman. Kinausap ko si Daniel, sabi ko, ‘DJ, meron akong isu-surprise sa kanya. Tulungan mo ‘ko,'” Min recalled.
(I was supposed to give this to her on her last birthday. On her 25th birthday, she did not get to enjoy because we had to go on lockdown again. I talked to Daniel and told him, “DJ, I have a surprise for her. Help me.”)
Min, Padilla and members of Bernardo’s glam team secretly worked on the project, which started construction in October of last year. Min also noted that the actress had already been planning on putting up a studio for some time. JB
