MANILA, Philippines—After Thursday’s count of nearly 90 million votes, Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips survived elimination to compete for American Idol crown next week.

Soul man Joshua Ledet would head home but Idol judge Randy Jackson said he believes the American singer from Westlake, Louisiana has a “ginormous” career ahead of him.

“If I end up not making it, I’m voting for both of ’em,” Ledet said of his two fellow contestants and friends.
