Sarah Geronimo represented the Philippines for the second time in the ASEAN-Japan Music Festival, where she performed her songs “Ikot-ikot” and “Isa Pang Araw” for the international event.

The singer appeared with fellow artists from Japan, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The event was held virtually and was streamed in two parts through the music festival’s YouTube channel yesterday, June 5.

“Music is very powerful. It can heal a wounded heart, uplift one’s spirit and bring renewed hope,” Geronimo said. “I do hope our music and performances can be a source of inspiration for all of you.”

The Pop Star Princess wowed audiences by singing “Ikot-ikot” on a gorgeously lit revolving set, which was originally seen in her “Tala” concert last April. She graciously slid and glided over the setup without missing a note in her performance.

Geronimo also soulfully sang “Isa Pang Araw” onstage with a live band for the second half of the music festival. She used her appearance to encourage the public to be hopeful and to create beautiful memories amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Perhaps, it is a reminder of what truly matters — life, family, time. Let us all be united in showing empathy and care for one another. Let go of resentment,” Geronimo stated.

“It may seem hard to do, but let us remain hopeful. Let us continue to celebrate life because this too shall pass. Let us continue to create beautiful memories with our loved ones however we can and while we still can,” she added.

Geronimo first performed at the ASEAN-Japan Music Festival in Tokyo back in 2018, where she sang her hits “Kilometro” and “Tala.” JB
