Celebrity couple Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid both had their second shots of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine and encouraged everyone to also get their jabs.

“We [finally] finished our second dose,” Velasquez said as she showed a photo with a volunteer at the Quezon City vaccination facility on her Instagram page today, June 2. She can also be seen holding her completed vaccination card.

The Asia’s Songbird urged her fans to get vaccinated against COVID-19, saying it will help people go back to living “normal lives.”

“For us to achieve herd immunity at least 70 to 80 [percent] of our population need to be vaccinated. This is the only way we can all go back to our normal lives,” she stated.

Alcasid, meanwhile, showed a photo of himself while getting the vaccine, through his Instagram page on the same day.

“After getting exposed again to a [COVID-19 positive patient] at work, wifey and I had to quarantine to fulfill the requirement for the second jab,” the composer-singer recalled.

Alcasid then admitted that he had doubts about getting vaccinated. He stated that he initially preferred to have Pfizer shots but added that it has been “so far, so good” with his Sinovac jab.

“Alam natin na marami pa rin ang nagdadalawang isip magpabakuna. Noong una ay Pfizer ang akala naming mahusay nguni’t sa aming mga nabasa pagkatapos ay [nalaman naming] kung ano ang ibigay, yun ang pinakamabisa,” he said.

(We know that many are still thinking twice about getting vaccinated. At first, we thought Pfizer was the best vaccine, but we read and learned that whatever is given to us is the most effective.)

“Kaya ako nagpabakuna, hindi lang para sa sarili ko, kundi para sa nakararami. Kaya maging protektodo, sa bakunang sigurado,” he appealed.

(I got vaccinated not only for myself but also for the rest of us. So be protected with safe vaccines.) JB
