QCinema shorts finalists unveiled

QCinema International Film Festival’s #QCShorts are back.

Festival organizers have announced the six entries chosen to compete in this year’s #QCShorts competition. Festival director Ed Lejano says, “It has been a series of pivots in these trying times, where festivals all over have been hit hard and struggling to present new works. This year, we’re bringing back one of our audience’s favorites, the QCShorts competition, for them to look forward to this year, whether it will be theatrical or streaming.”

The finalists span a range of visionary stories—from nostalgic coming-of-age and topical LGBTQ themes, compelling dramas amidst urban and regional settings, to experimental fiction and wacky mockumentary.

The winning entries are Chuck Escasa’s “Skylab”; Maria Estela Paiso’s “Ampangabagat Nin Talakba Ha Likol”; Trishtan Perez’s “i get so sad sometimes”; Miko Livelo and Mihk Vergara’s “Mighty Robo V”; Kaj Palanca’s “Henry”; and Xeph Suarez’s “City of Flowers.”
