In these times when show biz projects are harder to come by, it doesn’t matter, Adrian Alandy said, whether he receives lead or supporting roles. That he gets to work at all, he stressed, is already something to be thankful for.
“It’s not easy to find work right now, so you don’t want to categorize yourself in just either lead or support. There are instances when you will get offers to play support. Sometimes, there are chances to play lead. But I don’t focus on that anymore—just the fact that we’re able to act now keeps us sane,” he said in a recent virtual conference for GMA 7’s “I Can See You.”
“Whatever role is given to me, I will be thankful for the opportunity,” added the 41-year-old actor.
In a way, playing characters in a pandemic-free plot setting, can be a form of escape. “There are a lot of things in our heads. You can’t go out easily. You have to be careful. But doing projects wherein life seems normal helps us stay sane from reality,” Adrian said.
After three years with Star Magic, Adrian is back with GMA 7, his former stomping grounds. “I started [my career] with them back in 1997. They welcomed me with open arms and that was very heartening, especially now,” he related. “I’m a bit nervous and excited at the same time … I love working with new people and constantly learning from each other.”
